NAME : Matt Bennett
DATE OF BOOKING : 18/01/2015

ONLINE FLIGHT or T/SPEAK ADVICE : Both

I NEED HELP WITH : I am brand new to the world of flight sims and am currently working my way thru the tutorials for the free frogfoot. I have FC3 so am able to pilot the other A/C but this isn't much use as I literally can not turn them on let alone do anything else haha. Basically I need to learn take off, landing, trimming and dare I say it everything inbetween! I was thinking that doing a training flight in the TF - 51 whilst on TS would be the most useful(isn't it more realistic to learn to fly in prop plane first?)
USEFUL INFO : I have an X52

DATES/TIMES AVAILABLE : Monday - Thursday 20:00 - 23:00. Timings vary and are conservative as generally I am available all nights

Hi Matt,

First things first. Essentially we are based around the A-10C and Hawk aircraft on here, although each member is free to fly whatever they wish on non Squadron nights. Squadron nights are Tuesday & Thursday 19:15 - 22:30ish.

Yes the Su-25 is the freebie with DCS World but it can be a real beast to learn in. especially as it is not an aircraft that will be employed very often on RAF Air.

What I am saying is that you will really need to arm yourself with the A-10C module or VEAO Hawk. The A-10C is currently $39 ish from Digital Combat Sim website, but they often have a sale when it drops to $12. The Hawk is a little different as that is done by VEAO, a third party developer but can be purchased from ED http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/e ... dcs_world/

I will be TSpeak from 19:30 on Tuesday night if you wish to have a chat about how we can get you in the air with us. Like you I use an X52 and have no issues with it in DCS.

I love your comment "isn't it more realistic to learn to fly in prop plane first?". It is easier in real life to start on props but sure as hell isn't on DCS. Props on here need a lot of careful use and a lot of devoted time to get anything like smooth handling, but once that is sorted they are very good.

Give me a shout on here or by PM re which route you are most likely to go down. A-10C or Hawk.

In some ways it is good that you are new to sims as you will be starting with DCS from a fresh standpoint with no bad habits.

ok great. I shall be on tomorrow by 8pm as I could do with a verbal 'what's what'. As for the A10C/HAWK I will try and wait for a sale as FC3 just claimed this months purchase! Speak to you then
