Details Of Online Flight Nights

Tuesday 15th January 2019

Postby Neil Willis » 13 Jan 2019, 16:36

Tonight's mission will be open to discussion. If we have a couple of M2000Cs added to Alan's Training mission we will fly that. Failing that, we will probably go with the Generic Caucasus mission.

Pre-flight - 19:30 hrs Zulu.

Take off - 20:00 hrs Zulu.

Neil, I have taken a look at my mission on the Server Dropbox, with a view to adding a couple of Mirages as requested.

Unfortunately, after adding the Mirages, I took a quick look and it would seem that someone has been at it already, adding some routes and altering others. However, I did not immediately pick this up, and, having already added the Mirages, I spent a couple of hours running them to fine tune the whole thing before I spotted that there was quite a lot that no longer integrated well.

I will resurrect my original mission and try to add the Mirages as requested.

On a wider point - I don't mind people amending my missions, but would be grateful if they would then rename them afterwards. Being a 'Bear of very little Brain' I am easily confused - if it has my name on the lid, I assume it is mine!

Modified multi-aircraft mission will be available on the Dropbox, by this evening.

It includes:

4 x A-10Cs for Grid Attack
4 x FA-18s from Stennis for CAP - keeping off the Red Bombers and escorts
2 x FA-18s from Batumi - protecting the A-10s
2 x Mirages from Batumi - close protection for the site and A-10s
2 x Harriers from Tarawa - for SAM hunting
1 x Huey for sight-seeing
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree. (Santa’s sleigh is in the hangar for its Major Service]

Minimum of 3 x A-10s and 4 x FA-18s to make it viable.

The above mission is now on the Server in the 2.5 Missions Dropbox. It is named Flycos Protection Mission.miz

It has not been tested as thoroughly as I would have wished, but it appears to run reasonably well. Depending on the numbers and skills of the Blue pilots it should take around 1.30 from start to finish.

Two tankers are available for the fighters, but the CAPs should not be left un-manned. Flight Leaders are asked to control this.

Alan,

Just feedback from the M2KC mission editor setup, could you pls add the Tankers frequency on the UHF (comm2) as it is not programmable from the cockpit and I could therefore not AAR, not a big deal since ARCO is so close to BATUMI but just for the fun of AAR practice.

Nice mission, thanks!

Oops! Sorry Trev, but it was definitely locked on and heading for a Frogfoot, when I fired it.
